Walker Galleries

Founded in 1972 by Ian and David Walker, Walker Galleries has been exhibiting at major British and international art and antiques fairs on a regular basis, These include The Grosvenor House Antiques Fair, Masterpiece, The British Antique Dealers' Fair, BRAFA in Brussels, Olympia and the LAPADA Art and Antiques Fair, as well as at many smaller regional fairs throughout the UK. Until recently it has had premises in Harrogate, where it was seen as a leading gallery in the art market in the north of England. Over the past fifty years the Gallery has had various locations, including in London, Whitby and Honiton, as well as multiple galleries in Harrogate.

Walker Galleries specialises in British and French Impressionist paintings and has an enviable reputation for fine quality works in first class condition. Ian Walker, the Gallery director, who is passionate about paintings, has served on many major vetting committees and is a former chairman of the British Antique Dealers' Association. He is assisted by his wife Shirley, who handles the financial aspects of the business, as well as helping in other areas.

We are always happy to advise on the purchase and conservation of paintings and over the years have assisted clients in the formation of several important collections. Many of our works have been sourced from private collections both in the UK and abroad and have not been on the market for many years. Following the recent closure of the gallery in Harrogate due to the redevelopment of the building, we are now operating online and by appointment. Please feel free to contact us if we can be of assistance.
