Born in Cumbria in 1947, Arthur Baglee trained at the Edinburgh College of Art and was awarded the Andrew Grant Travelling Scholarship in 1968 and achieved his Art Teachers Certificate in Manchester in 1969. He divides his time between France and Yorkshire and has had a number of exhibitions not only in France and England but also in Germany and Holland, including Galerie Le Mas, Dordogne, France, Maison de la Culture, Riberac, France, Inter-Art Galerie Reich, Cologne, Germany, "Art Without Frontiers" - a Touring Exhibition, Holland. He has a fine appreciation of colour values and "...is an elegant artist who paints as much with light as he does with pigment."
