PETER KING

Born in Glasgow in 1953, Peter King studied at the Glasgow School of Art in the mid 70s under the tutelage of David Donaldson RSA and Duncan Shanks RSA. He has painted and exhibited constantly while teaching full time in North Lanarkshire. He exhibits regularly at the Royal Scottish Academy, The Royal Glasgow Institute and Thompsons Galleries in London. In April 2000, his painting was featured by the Sunday Times in an article on contemporary British landscape painting. The weathered landscapes of Kintyre, the Clyde Valley and Scottish Borders are constant sources of ideas and inspiration for Peter. Colour and the tactile qualities of paint are essentials in his focus on capturing the changing moods of light, seasons and weather. His work is represented in collections across the UK, Europe and North America.
